Sisters Fight Mad Bull.

Animal Attacks Another, But Girls Succeed in Driving Him Away.

Winona, Minn.-In Saratoga, this county, lives James Ferrier, with two daughters, who are no strangers to fear, as has just been shown by their risking their lives to save a $200 shorthorn bull belonging to their father.

The animal had just been bought, and was fastened by stanchions in the barn among some other cattle, when the older bull which the younger animal was to replace at the head of the herd, worked loose and attacked the younger one, goring it severely.

The noise was heard by the girls in the house and they hurried to the barn. They did not hesitate a moment, but, seizing a rawhide and a club, they tried to drive the aggressor away.

The animal turned on them and pinned one of then in a corner. Without a thought of giving up, she continued to belabor the animal across the face and eyes; and, with the help of her sister, finally succeeded in driving it into a corner, where they held it at bay until their father arrived from the field.

After the danger was over they were prostrated. Aside from some bruises, they were not injured.
