Gored By a Bull.

Patrick Bows, an Irishman, residing in this city, had a narrow escape from death on Thursday morning last. He was leading a Bull [his own property] to water, and as he was returning from the river the brute, for some reason unknown, became enraged, and turned ferociously upon Mr. Bows, knocking him down, treading upon him, and goring him to some extent in the head, back and stomach. His injuries are not so serious as was first supposed, and Mr. Bows will probably be about in a few days.

But for the timely assistance rendered by Mrs. Bows-who seized a club and in a fight “manly” manner, pounded and belabored the animal until she drove him from her husband,-no doubt the man would have met with a horrible and excruiating death.

Take our advice, Patrick: Kill the Bull or he may kill you.
