     Last Wednesday evening. Mr. John Melody was badly kicked in the mouth, by a horse at the stables of the City Hotel, by which his lips and chin were badly cut and four teeth knocked out.

     A team of horses became frightened and ran away in Chicago this week, and ran into the river where a bridge was open. The driver escaped and was pulled ashore by a policeman who stood upon the bank. The team was drowned, and the carriage highly perfumed.
