    Barnam’s elephant, Albert, which killed his keeper last Saturday, was taken to the Keene, N. H., suburbs Monday afternoon and shot, thirty-three members of a militia company firing at the beast at the same time. The remains will be sent to the Smithsonian institution at Washington.
