Thorough-Bred Rats.

Mr. C. Clark, of O’Plain, gives us the following rat story, for the truth of which he vouches. A few nights since he placed an old sheep in his barn, closing the doors in such a way that nothing could get in. The next morning he went to the barn and discovered the sheep dead. It had been killed and a hole eaten into its flesh, and through to the entrails. Not knowing how to account for this, he set a trap and succeeded in catching the animal that did the mischief, which was none other than a large rat.
