A spirit of affection or whatever it may be termed, took place a few days ago at the corner of Grand avenue and North Genesee street. It seems that an auto in its wild speed ran over and killed a Spitz dog and it was but a short time after the accident when an Irish settler, owned by Contractor Stewart of Stewart Avenue, came along and seeing a member of the canine family lying there, instinct promped it to investigate which resulted in its finding the dog dead. After looking about for a few minutes it took the animal in its mouth and carried it to its home. Mr. Stewart was non-plussed, but on inquiry he learned where the corpse had been found, after which a decent burial of the dog took place.
