“BOB” Burton’s Bull Pup Dies

Published in The Waukegan Daily Sun and Gazette on August 16, 1922.

There is mourning at the home of A. J. Burton Waukegan’s laundryman. “BOB” the bull pup, who had made his home there for six years, has gone to his reward. Sickness cut “BOB” down in the flower of his youth the dog being only 6 years old.

“BOB” was not unknown outside of his own family circle. He used to enjoy ridding on the Washington street cars and frequently amused himself thus at the expence of the electric railway company. The conductors let “BOB” ride because he provided amusement for the passengers before the flapper came into the limelight.

But yesterday “BOB” aspired to things celestial in dogdom and so he gave a few gurgles, curled himself up into the shape of a pretzel, and died.
