Cattle.

Fort Elliott, Tex., Jan. 28.-It is estimated that fully 15,000 head of cattle lie dead on the prairie within a radius of seventy-five miles of this place. The prairie dogs are nearly all dead. However, not more than 1 percent of the native cattle have died from cold. Several persons were badly frozen. Dan Taylor, a young man living about seventy-five miles west of this place, near the adobe walls, was brought into the hospital with both hands, face and ears, and both feet very badly frozen. Both feet were amputated. The lowest recorded by the mercury was 10 degrees below zero.
