Two unknown parties driving from Chicago to Long Grove left a horse to die by the roadside near the Hanson farm, about three and one-half miles from Libertyville, Thursday.
The horse had been driven until it dropped in the harness and the men who were driving did nothing more than secure a new rig and remove their belongings, leaving the horse to its fate.
Farmers in the vicinity were very much incensed over the matter and papers have been issued against the parties who have been located and will undoubtedly be severely dealt with.
The horse died during the night and its owners must have the carcass disposed of at once or pay the penalty.
