A runaway team created a little excitement in town last Tuesday forenoon. They had been left for a moment in front of Crabtree’s shop, on Genesee street, when a boy passed with an umbrella, frightening them so that they quickly whirled about and ran southward. The owner saw them start and sprang towards them, but could not quite reach the lines. The horses turned west on Washington street, crossing the culvert and turned northwards towards the fair grounds, running so slowly by this time that some man who saw them coming climbed into the wagon, took hold of the lines, turned them about and drove back to town. It was raining at the time so the streets were pretty clear and no damage resulted.
