Woman Accused of Killing and Grinding Up Her Husband.
Mrs. Lafayette Taylor is a prisoner in Monticello, N. Y., charged with killing her husband on Tuesday, Jan. 27. On that day Lafe Taylor disappeared and his wife told the neighbors he had gone to Ellensville on business. Later she went to her uncle, Peter Yerkins, and offered to sell her husband’s horse. Yerkins questioned her and the women finally told him she had shot her husband and burned his body in the cook stove. The women’s arrest followed. The woman’s daughter, Ida May, aged 16 years, was taken into custody, and after much questioning told the details of the crime. She said her mother shot the husband and cut up the body with a carving knife and an ax and then burned the pieces in the kitchen stove. The burned bones were ground fine and fed to the hens. The blood spots were covered up with paint.
