According to his account the animal measured 11 and three-quarters feet in height at the shoulders, 25 feet 5 inches from the tip of the trunk to the end of the tail. The distance from the tip of the trunk to one eye was 7 feet; from one eye to the tail nearly 13 and one-half feet, and the tail was 4 and one-half feet in length.
